Yangtze River Delta Intellectual Property Integration in 2024 Promotes the Cultivation and Transformation of High-Value Patents
In 2024, the Yangtze River Delta Intellectual Property Integration Theme Activity was held in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, injecting new impetus into the cultivation and transformation of high-value patents in the region.
The Intellectual Property Offices of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui jointly signed relevant memoranda of cooperation and strategic cooperation agreements, establishing a cooperation mechanism among the three provinces and one city, breaking regional barriers, and optimizing resource allocation to better serve the national strategy of integrated regional development in the Yangtze River Delta.
The cultivation and transformation cooperation of high-value patents in the Yangtze River Delta is led by Jiangsu. The relevant person in charge of the Jiangsu Intellectual Property Office introduced that high-value patents are the representatives of excellent patents and an important part of new-quality productive forces. As the region with the most concentrated and vibrant innovation resources, the Yangtze River Delta has the ability and responsibility to "lead the way and set an example" in cultivating and transforming high-value patents and boosting the development of new-quality productive forces. In recent years, Jiangsu has established provincial-level high-value patent cultivation demonstration centers focusing on the key core technologies of key industries. Through cultivation, some industries have achieved major breakthroughs in key technologies and become self-controlled, some enterprises have become industry "leaders", and some patented technologies have successfully gone abroad. Jiangsu's high-value patent cultivation model has also been promoted nationwide by the State Intellectual Property Office as the pilot experience and typical case of building an intellectual property powerhouse.
The high-quality patent cultivation and transformation cooperation initiated by Jiangsu in conjunction with Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Anhui this time will play an active role in many aspects. First, it will promote collaborative innovation in key industries, explore the establishment of a cross-regional industrial collaborative innovation mechanism, and support the cross-regional cooperation and cultivation of high-value patents. Second, it will promote the co-construction and interoperability of transformation platforms, build intellectual property operation centers around the layout of regional advantageous industries, and achieve interconnection and information sharing. Third, it will promote the implementation of transformation projects across provinces, carry out cross-regional high-value patent docking activities, and promote the implementation of excellent patents. Fourth, it will promote the flow and sharing of superior resources, jointly build an expert resource pool of the three provinces and one city, encourage service institutions to provide cross-provincial services, and support financial institutions to develop financial products for the three provinces and one city, providing strong support for the overall development of the Yangtze River Delta. Fifth, it will promote the joint protection of innovation rights and interests, deepen the exchanges and cooperation of intellectual property protection centers and rights protection assistance institutions, and promote the overall improvement of intellectual property protection level in the Yangtze River Delta.
This cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta region will further integrate the intellectual property resources in the region, improve patent quality and transformation efficiency, strengthen intellectual property protection, provide solid intellectual property support for the high-quality economic development and innovation-driven development of the Yangtze River Delta region, and help China occupy a more favorable position in the global intellectual property competition.
